Chart desk

The desk is laid in one order, and the order is the lesson.

Before anyone speaks, three sheets are already on the lacquered top: price, momentum, RSI. A brass straightedge sits above them, not a second indicator. This is the desk the Saturday classroom, the private review, and the Thursday circle all share.

01

Price, closest to you

The bar chart is the sheet nearest the chair. You mark swings and odd closes on it while the other two sheets stay face down. If a guest reaches for RSI first, the sheet is turned back over. The habit is physical on purpose.

02

Momentum, to the left

The 10-bar rate of change lives on its own page, to the left, so it cannot be absorbed into the price picture. Peaks are compared with the peaks you already marked. Agreement and disagreement are the only two words we want at this stage.

03

RSI, to the right

14-period RSI, fences lightly ruled at 30 and 70. You darken a fence only if price spent time there. Then you compare this sheet with momentum, not only with the bars. The interesting mornings are the ones where those two readings part company.

What else is allowed on the wood

A pencil, the straightedge, a blank annotation page with three numbered lines, and a cup that stays off the paper. Tea is taken at the side table. The lamp is copper-coloured and low, because the packs are ivory and a bright overhead washes the pencil out.

What you bring to a first morning

A notebook, and the name of one market if you have one. The shared pack is already printed. Your market is added when the room's mix allows; otherwise it waits for a private review, where the whole desk is yours for ninety minutes.

After the last line is written

You may photograph your own annotation sheet. The printed pack stays in the room until the term ends, then you may take your marked copies. The reading order, one page, goes home on the first Saturday so the Sunday folder matches the desk.
